The U-505 Submarine was strategically captured by the brave group of 2,200 sailors in the U.S. Navy’s Hunter Killer Task Group 22.3. The USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60) was a Casablanca-class escort carrier of the U.S. Navy, which served during and after World War II including as a part of Task Group 22.3. The Guadalcanal towed the U-505 to Bermuda following its capture.
